At Kairos Counseling & Family Therapy, we are dedicated to healing the scars that trauma inscribes on hearts, in minds, through behaviors. We understand the fragility of the heart, the dark and winding paths that are possible for the mind to follow, and the effects which play out in the body. Moments that are beyond our comprehension, beyond our control, that play out in a narrative that is not of our choosing.
It is our passion to come alongside the individual – child, adolescent, teen, young adult, adult – to help bring light to the darkness, and to walk with the family to develop new ways of seeing one another and interacting together. Our heart is to provide a space for the individual to find their truth in restoring their identity toward relational health.
It is in this place that we provide a safe, compassionate, restorative space so children, adolescents, young adults, adults and the families that love them can find their truth, heal their relationships, and claim their futures. To this end, our approach to therapy is attachment-centered and trauma-informed, as well as adaptive in nature, serving each person in the unique way they require and deserve.
We are born into relationship and relationship is key to our healing.

Her wish is to partner with caregivers and guide them as they navigate the challenges of caretaking while sharing the very same tools she uses with her students, their parents, colleagues and in her very own parenting.
She is someone with the real life experiences that understands the development side, the emotional side and the, “I don’t know what else to do side…” of caring for dysregulated children.
It is her ultimate desire to be with, listen too and walk with caregivers on a journey to seeing beyond what Robyn calls BIG, baffling behaviors.

JoAnna Luks, MA, MFT candidate, Certified Parent Coach

Sees clients in these States: New Jersey (in-person) & everywhere (virtual)

Email: attunedparentcoaching@gmail.com
JoAnna has a MA in Child Advocacy and is a Marriage and Family Therapy Masters candidate. She is also a certified parent coach and a Being With practitioner. JoAnna believes that the way children heal is in connection with their caregivers. When a child feels seen and heard, the hypervigilant brain can calm and allow for softening of intense behaviors. JoAnna will not try to “fix” your child, as she does not believe children are broken. The techniques you will learn will allow your child to discover new, healthier reactions because when their brain is not flooded with stress hormones, their thinking brain (owl brain!) can come online. Your attunement with your child is the key to their “felt safety,” and that is where the magic happens, between you and your child.

Website: coming soon!

Email: kristi@Counseling4KidsCorvallis.com

Telephone #: 541-224-3109

Kristi is a parent coach, trainer, consultant and clinical social worker. But her best, and hardest, job is mom. She loves to geek out about the brain and nervous system and how that impacts behaviors, which then impacts relationships. She finds joy in sharing this information and applying it to coaching parents and consulting in schools, to her own parenting, and ultimately, to herself. When we see the underlying reason for behaviors, the behavior usually then makes sense and we can also sometimes find some grace. Kristi aims to share tools that are specific to each child and each parent’s personality and parenting style. When parents know the basic science, and have at least some initial tools, that can serve them and their child for a lifetime.
Also, Kristi really likes to support parenting partners. So often parents are in the midst of their own parenting battle: “You’re too strict!” “You’re a pushover, too soft.” Time and again, Kristi finds that the right parenting approach is somewhere in the middle of these two seemingly conflicting styles. She aims to reduce the conflict about parenting and help parents parent from the same chapter, maybe not the same page. This allows for each person to parent in a way that feels authentic to them individually.
