A Brain Based Approach to Parenting Kids with Vulnerable Nervous Systems and Big, Baffling Behaviors: Growing the Owl Brain

Sponsoring Organization:  Cohens Veterans Network

Date: April 1st, 2025

Time: 12-2pm eastern

Location: Virtual

Description: The baffling behaviors of kids who have a history of trauma and toxic stress, including lying, stealing, manipulation, being spaced-out and in la-la land, come from a vulnerable nervous system that needs support with co-regulation, connection, and felt-safety. We can help parents put on their ‘x-ray vision goggles’ to look past behavior and see what’s actually causing the behavior. Caregivers will be able to stop playing behavior whack-a-mole and use parenting strategies that really work. Participants will learn an easy- to-understand model of addressing baffling behaviors based on Robyn’s owl, watchdog, and possum brain.

This is part 2 of a 4 part series.

Registration Information: This is a private training for Cohen Veterans Network. If you are interested in scheduling a similar training for your organization, contact Robyn’s team at hello@robyngobbel.com
